The primary
focus of this course will be to teach students to draw. The course will
begin with age and level appropriate exercises to help a student
learn how to “see.” As the course progresses, the exercises will increase in
difficulty. To begin, subjects to be drawn will be images on paper. Further into the course students will move on to
drawing still life objects. Students
will work with pencils, markers,
pastels, and other dry media. Color concepts will be introduced at a basic level. As the student's skills develop, more
difficult media such as watercolor will be used. Each student's work
will be featured on the Gallery page of this website. The instructor will
also seek opportunities to feature students' work in various
community venues. Registration is limited to 20 students. Please return a completed registration form along with payment to reserve a place in this course.
